Set off eastbound on bicycle friendly streets from your favorite North Park neighborhood coffee shop. You’ll have various climbs and also catch glimpses of the hills to come. You’ll cross a highway, and then stumble on paths adjacent the Lake Murray Reservoir. After some high-fives with golfers, you’ll begin some singletrack in the Navajo area.
The single track is steep, full of berms, and very mountain-bike friendly. The beginning will be intense but then should smooth out and feel more rideable. When the dirt ends you’ll be in front of the Mission Trails.
The Mission Trails can be intense because there are steep climbs, loose terrain, but then again, there is some excellent singletrack. These trails have it all. You’ll do a loop of some of the best trails in the network. You’ll exit the dirt and then ride through streets toward the Normal Heights neighborhood, which finishes off for a post-ride beverage!
