The route begins at a local coffee shop and quickly finds the multi-use path which will take you next to the Woonasquatucket river. Once joining with the suburbs, you’ll find some forgotten trails through natural areas. The moment you pass by I-295 the rest of the route is nearly all in the woods.
You’ll pedal on rolling wooded trails with various obstacles. At some point you’ll ride next to the Stillwater reservoir and then begin to circle back toward the City.
You’ll enter and exit several lost backyards and sleepy neighborhoods back toward Providence. Some hills may have steep ascents, but there will be fun and long downhills that are worth it. Toward the end of the route, you’ll link up to the path you used to get away from the City.
In summary, the spragueville shred is a great half-day mixed terrain ride that quickly gets you out of the city on low stress paths and roads.
